Button
Rose woke up bright and early! She was
going someplace very special on this day—she was going to visit outer space!
The
first thing little Button Rose did was pack her knapsack. She made sure to include lots of freeze-dried carrots,
parsnips, greens and—of course—some space ice cream!
Next,
Button Rose got on the bus that would take her to the rocket that would carry
her to the space station.
She
was so excited!
She
had trained and trained for this day—and it was finally here!
What
would it be like to see the world from so far away?
Button
Rose closed her eyes to imagine it yet again.
And
then she realized she wouldn’t have to imagine it for much longer!
This
was really happening!
The
rocket fired off without any complications, and the force was incredible!
“God,
is this the force that You felt coming from You when You spoke the world into
being?” Button Rose prayed as she just imagined
what it must have been like at the beginning of the world!
Before
she knew it, little Button Rose had arrived at Creation 1—the Animal Space Station. She had many tasks to perform during her time
here, but before she began, she took a good long look out the window at planet
Earth—her home.
It
looked so small—
And
every care
Down
there
Seemed
so very far away.
But
it was beautiful too.
Green,
white, and blue.
Button
Rose was without any words to say.
After
a moment, Button Rose breathed a prayer:
“Oh,
Lord, how beautiful is Your Creation!
Thank You for giving me such a gift—to see the world you created from
such a completely different and breathtaking view!
“This
glorious feeling of weightlessness in outer space and floating in the air
reminds me of how I can be all the time—even when I am on earth—when I give my
cares to You. I don’t ever have to be
loaded down by the weight of worry.
“O,
Dear God—How I love You!
“In
Jesus’ Name, Amen!”
Then—all
of a sudden—little Button Rose woke up, blinked her eyes, twitched her nose,
and smiled a sleepy smile.
“What
a wonderful dream!” Button Rose said as
she yawned, rolled over, and fell back to sleep, entering dreamland once again.
The
morning would come soon enough—but for now, sweet dreams little Button Rose!
